The “Wob” is still a hot haircut trend for spring 2015.
The “Wob”, or wavy bob, is still one of the hottest haircut trend right now. The ‘wavy bob’ has now surpassed the ‘long bob’ as the year’s most sought-after hairstyle. “Not having to deal with a lot of layers makes styling easy.” says Frank Hathaway. “And the strong line makes it dramatic look, without the stiffness of a classic bob”.
Piecy, chin length bobs have been spotted on celebrities everywhere, from Jennifer Lawrence’s “I’m growing it back out” look to Taylor Swifts new Shorter, pushed back version of the classic style. It’s not unusual to see celebrities follow the same trends, but when a style looks this great and is so easy to care for, it’s a great time to jump on the opportunity to look great with minimal effort.

At David Frank Salon, we get really excited about hair color. We love them all, but a beautiful, vibrant red can be especially fun on the right person. Red hair is very fashionable again for for women, but what about men? Red haired men sometimes get a lot of grief about their color. I had reddish hair when I was a kid, but lately it’s become a subject of comedy to make fun of gingers. I imagine it’s because there is nobody left we are allowed to make fun of, but I actually thing red hair is kind of awesome. Since only about 4% of the world population has red hair, your already kind of unique. It sets you apart immediately.

Hollywood stars are rushing to the salon for this seasons hottest hair trend, the pixie cut. We love a great short hair style. Following closely in the footsteps of Jennifer Hudson, Charlize Theron, and Michelle Williams, Pamela Anderson and Kristin Chenowith are now sporting fantastic new short cuts.
Kristen Chenowith traded her very average looking longer hair for a much more chic, shorter shape.
Pamela Anderson looks great, and actually much more feminine in her new cropped cut.
In “The Counselor”, Cameron Diaz has a new look. I’m betting we get lots of requests for this stunning disconnected bob. The shape features a short section on one side that allows the hair to be pushed back or worn down. The long side gives the feeling of more hair. It’s a very versatile look because you can wear it down an d looks like a traditional bob. The darker color underneath adds emphasis to the disconnection. We love it.
After years of long, highlighted locks with extensions and wigs on the Hannah Montana show, Miley Cyrus has cut her hair into a punky, asymmetrical crop and has lightened it super blond. Probably a stunt to set herself apart from her teen character and move forward with her image, but I love it. Hopefully it will inspire some fun, aggressive short styles this fall.
Total Recall came out in 1990, and I have seen it probably 25 times at least. The original, starring Arnold schwartzenegger and Sharon Stone, was kind of campy sci fi. The effects were decent for the time, and the styling hardly drove anybody out to mimic the looks. The new version, however, has already brought me some requests for the styles Kate Beckensale and Jessica Biel wear in the movie.
Originally adapted by director Paul Verhoeven in 1990, author Philip K. Dick’s classic sci-fi short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” returns to the big screen in this remake starring Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, and Kate Beckinsale. The planet has been decimated by war, leaving only two nations — the United Federation of Britain and the Colony. Douglas Quaid (Farrell) is a factory worker with a stable job and … Read More »
Vidal Sassoon, celebrity hairstylist, died Wednesday in his Los Angeles home.
Sassoon helped launch the age of the signature hair salon, complete with designer-label prices. He also revolutionized women’s hair cutting with his sleek, geometric cuts and is credited with popularizing the hand-held blow dryer. Sassoon used a blow dryer to create his innovative hairstyles, what had been a novelty item turned into a standard appliance in salons and homes. Hair rollers and helmet-style dryers became all but obsolete as a result. To get the flat, shaped effect he wanted, he dumped the hair curlers and stationary dryers for his blow dryer and a styling brush became his main tool, along with his scissors. “To me hair dressing means shape. It’s very important that the foundations should be right,” he wrote in his autobiography.
Sassoon grew up poor in London, including a … Read More »
Anne Hathaway debuted a short crop in London Sunday where she is filming a movie version of “Les Miserables.” Anne’s role is Fantine, who, in attempting to care for her child, sells her front teeth, hair, turns to prostitution and becomes ill with tuberculosis.
A major transformation was required for the part, considering how healthy Anne looks. She is on a very low calorie to get the looks she needs for the part.
She chopped off her locks, leaving it short on the side with a bit more at the top. The crop will suit Fantine well, but I’m curious to see if Anne grows in back quickly, as Natalie Portman did after cutting hair for ” V for Vendetta” or keeps it short, as Michelle Williams has. Personally, I think the look suits her in pictures but I prefer her with … Read More »
O.K., I know the s**t people say videos are getting way tired, but this one is pretty funny.
