New ombre color technique for spring 2013
It seems extreme dark to light ombre color is on it’s way out. But the trend toward lighter
ends with softer regrowth is the new standard. We all love the deeper color around the face graduating into lighter and brighter color at the ends. Here is how I am creating a softer, more wearable version of last years balayage trend. The technique, sometimes called “lacing” starts with a few foils across the part on top. Then, I do a traditional balayage application on the rest of the hair, with very soft highlights a bit away from the scalp moving into bold pieces on the ends. Last, I tease the hair between the foils and lighten the ends that remain. The result ties the roots to ends together in a nicely, still with minimal regrowth and
a modern look.
